Lent is now upon us.
So often we as mortals get trapped in our own world. How often have we shouted out what we are giving up for lent as a focus on us. I have come to believe that in this " me" world we live in that some things are upside down.
Why do we promise not to do something rather than finding the time to move forward and making the world better, safer, a better place for those less fortunate.
How hard is it to find someone in need, down on their luck? I bet a simple look around our office, neighborhood or church will indeed produce countless people needing our help, time or even friendship. Lent is doing, giving, and helping. No longer can we withdraw into ourselves to keep a holy Lent.
Actions complete our Lenten times, love, forgive maybe apologies are in order.
Forty days can make a lifetime of difference.
